Event Description:

October's educational program will be presented by our very own Angie Freyer of  Function & Flow Home Organizing.  The presentation will be: Grief Organizing - Reclaiming Your Space After Loss. It will focus on grief and its impact on our physical spaces. Grief is often associated with the loss of a loved one, but it can be experienced after any life altering event or big change. Grief touches every aspect of our lives, but we often don't discuss its impact on our home environment. Angie will address how our home space can help support us during the grieving process and ways to create healing spaces, will discuss ways to address the challenges of going through belongings during time of grief and how to handle this with care and compassion. 

Learning Objectives:

1. Normalize the discussion around grief and provide you with a better understanding of how to approach clients

2. A better understanding of how grief impacts our ability to complete daily home maintenance tasks and why typical organizing approaches may need to be modified. 

3. Understand the emotional toll that grief can have and how it can manifest in our physical spaces.

4. Provide strategies for helping clients work through emotional attachments to items and creating ways to honor their loved one or the change that they are grieving.
