"Helping Our Clients Prepare for the Ultimate Life Transition"

Losing a parent, spouse or loved one is a difficult life transition that affects every one of us at one time or another. Clients facing this challenging time may be seeking information and resources to help them organize and minimize overwhelm. From funeral or memorial arrangements to estate planning, this educational program is designed to help demystify the organizational side of the death and dying process.

This event will include four knowledgeable panelists, including Steve Bennett, estate planning attorney with Farleigh Wada Witt, Maryann Giunta + Deanna Hagy with Evening Star End-of-Life Doula Services and Deborah Threadgill of Threadgill's Memorial Services.

Topics covered will include:
  • Basic information on what it means to have a Last Will
  • Understand why to sign a financial power of attorney
  • How to plan for healthcare decision-making
  • Who to name as retirement account beneficiaries
  • Paperwork required after a death, including Information necessary for the death certificate
  • How to plan a funeral service
  • Information about end-of-life doulas and how they provide education, emotional and spiritual support to the dying and their loved ones, allowing clients to prioritize and plan for final days
