The presentation will walk through the key points of Motivational Interviewing, a counseling approach that guides clients towards solving their own challenges and ambivalence, rather than offering direct advice or solutions. The goal of MI is creating an internal desire for change in the client, because when the client comes up with their own solutions, they’re more likely to follow it through!
Kim is a former NAPO Oregon member who went back to school to become a therapist.
